Nina Medved is vowed to nursing words and light. She studied Comparative Literature and French at the Faculty of Arts in Ljubljana. She lives and works from Maribor.
As the winner of the Urška Festival of Young Literature (2019), she was awarded the publication of her debut poetry collection Sliding World (Public Fund for Cultural Activities of Republic of Slovenia, 2020). The collection was nominated for the best debut book at the Slovenian Book Fair (2021) and selected for the Pranger Festival programme. An audiobook, featuring the artist's interpretation of the poems, has been published a year later. Her poetry is also published in literary magazines such as Literatura, Dialogi, Poetikon and some other languages: German, Greek, Czech, English, French.
At the same time, she co-creates numerous literary activities in Slovenia and France: the Slovenian Book Days in Maribor, the Translation Pranger, the International Translation Seminar of Slovenian Literature, the Children's and Youth Poetry Fair in Tinqueux. She translates mainly from French and mentors young literary voices.
She creates solo photographic projects (I take France takes me and Negative space), edits poetry books, portrays artists, covers festivals. She has participated in several selected group exhibitions: at the Tinqueux Gallery of the Centre for Creative Childhood, DLUM Gallery, Circulation2, the Maribor Museum of Photography, Jakopič's Walk in Ljubljana.
She is the founder and artistic director of Two Moons, an association for the poeticization of the world.
For her "existential depth and renaissance breadth", she was recently awarded the Pont Charter for promising literary artists (2021).
